The Family Project is a 12 session DVD experience for couples or small groups that explores the theological, philosophical, and cultural underpinnings of the traditional family, and combines that information with inspiring stories and practical tools to help 21st-century families thrive. People will find purpose, joy and redemption and generation after generation will create a positive legacy. Why do families work? Because God Himself designed them! Thriving families will lead to thriving communities, and thriving communities will transform the world. The pastoral application videos show how the parables relate to our daily lives, as well as how we each fit into the broader scope of the Kingdom of God. People can immediately relate to what the films are saying as well as to what the pastors are teaching. It is high integrity to the Word of God in all its parts that makes the study so effective.īy modernizing the parables, they become more accessible to a contemporary audience. The goal of the films is to re-create the emotional, intellectual, and spiritual impact of the original parables. The films are not just loosely based on the parables, but very accurately follow the original text. The gut-level understanding made possible by the films is intended to drive listeners into a deeper understanding of the Bible.

It does this by using some of the best parable scholarship and exploring it through creative film making. Modern Parables seeks to re-create the emotional immediacy that Jesus’ 1st-century audience felt when hearing the parables. God offers our only hope for victory over disposition, dysfunction, double-mindedness, and every other mental stronghold. This 10-session Bible study by James MacDonald identifies strongholds, examines how they came to be, and offers believers a biblical path toward repentance and the renewing of their minds. If you repeatedly find yourself in places where you don’t want to go, it’s your thinking that’s leading you there. In a world constantly bombarded by the fictions of a self-absorbed culture, managing our thinking becomes an even trickier proposition. So much of what we are missing in life is associated with the way we process events in the world around us, draw conclusions about our circumstances, and act out of conclusions uninformed by the truth of Jesus and the gospel. The Book of Romans challenges us to be no longer conformed to the patterns of the world but rather to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. Beyond behaviors and deeper than attitudes, thinking determines outcome more than anything else. Why do we lose our temper? Why do we tend to hurt those we care for most? How do families find themselves broken? The reason is often the way we think.
